Discover the best of Balcones Canyonlands National Wildlife Refuge on this all-around birding tour, led by experienced guides who know the local birds and habitats inside and out!
This walking tour will cover about 2.5 miles at a relaxed pace, giving you plenty of time to take in the sights and sounds of spring in the Hill Country. Despite the shorter distance, you’ll experience a wide variety of habitats, which means a diverse mix of species.
April is an exciting time at the Refuge, with both resident and migrating birds actively singing and foraging. Expect to see and hear species like Painted Buntings, Lark Sparrows, Blue-gray Gnatcatchers, and possibly a Golden-cheeked Warbler or Black-capped Vireo. Raptors, vireos, and flycatchers are also likely to be active, adding to the variety.
This tour is perfect for both seasoned birders and newcomers looking for a fun and rewarding birding experience. Space is limited, so register soon to secure your spot!
